Carolina Bucci for Tod's No-Code Spring/Summer 2013

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Take a look on how jewellery designer Carolina Bucci styles her favourite Oxford Lace-ups from Tod's No-Code Spring/ Summer 2013 collection.

The functional part? A lesson in transitional dressing; whether paired with a feminine blouse and chic capris for work, or a bright tangerine top, cropped trousers and a structured coat to brave the London weather, quality and craftsmanship will speak for itself. Opt for a versatile design in a neutral hue to stand the test of trends and time.

The glamorous part? Her own line of gold pendants and friendship bands, of course! Seen fully decked in a 'C' initial ring, weaved cuff on her right arm, and a full-on arm party of Lucky bracelets and watch on the left, Bucci truly glows in a cool-yet-feminine nonchalance.

Trend Report
All The Single (Soled) Ladies

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

Meet the new talk of the town: slim, tall, beautiful, and totally single - she is the new coveted shoe, the ultra feminine pointy stilettos. The tides and trends have turned from the chunky platformed Tributes into the elegant silhouette of sculpted single-soled pumps.

They have always been there; the single-soled pumps gained their first popularity in the 1950's, following World War II. The decade is characterized by the resurgence of haute couture after the austerity of the war years. Square shoulders and short skirts were replaced by the soft femininity of Christian Dior's "New Look" silhouette, with its flared poodle skirt, fitted waist, and rounded shoulders. Shoe trends also followed in those steps, and now they are making a comeback in our must-have list.

Prominent fashion houses such as Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, and Gianvito Rossi have been perfecting their art to sculpt shoes that coexist in harmony with the feminine curves. Whether boasting a thin strap at the ankles or a minimalistic d'Orsay cut, single soled pumps are the ultimate accessory that whispers sensuality - baring the slimmest, most erogenous part of every woman's legs - the ankles.
Starting from the smoothly curved heel that helps lengthen the gams, to the feminine tapered end that bears a versatile sophistication to the wearer. The perfect day-to-night transitional piece - whether seen elevating a poised tailored pantsuit or peeking under a billowy chiffon LBD - single-soled pumps are definitely here to stay.

LaPrendo is expecting to welcome the ubiquitous label, Gianvito Rossi S/S 2013 collection into our online and Dempsey retail space by the end of this week. Trust us, you wouldn't want to miss it...

LaPrendo Edit Shanghai Launch Event

Monday, June 3, 2013

Haute Shanghai gathered for the debut of, the Chinese edition of, set at elegant private club One Xintiandi on Thursday 23 May. Alongside luxury artisans by Viven Sheriff, Ethan K, George Cleverley, Hsiao Fang, and Secret De Grands Chefs wines, LaPrendo was invited to showcase LaPrendo Edit; featuring some of our tightly curated pieces from our favourite fine jewellery brands.
The soiree sees a a wide audience of press, media, and celebrities - both locally and internationally. An exclusive performance from Shunza [顺子] kickstarted the event as good times rolled for an entire celebration of culture, craftsmanship, food & drink, art, design, style, and life itself.
One of our success stories started with Carolina Bucci's woven wonders, unveiling a fantasy where the past and the present, modern and historic, intertwine. A centuries-old Florentine expertise of braiding sumptuous silk threads and precious 18-karat gold chains is re-envisioned into friendship bracelets to be stacked collectively or worn on its own as a timeless beauty in their own right. Chic initial rings and last but not least, the Masterpiece - Scarab pendant - all bejeweled in vivid toned diamonds. Carolina Bucci’s weaved cuffsnow come with multi-coloured silk strands for a modern ‘arm party’ effect.

Choices by DL, globally heralded as 'a jewellery wardrobe in a box' - and only for good reasons. Trained at the Fashion Institute of Amsterdam, Debora Leeser masterminded the idea of interchangeable jewellery and patented it under Gassan Diamonds Company.
Each piece consists of three individual elements: the core body, the bezel, and the coloured stones to then be assembled with a magnet and bayonet mechanism. Talk about bringing transitional dressing to the next level!

Anticipate the arrival of a true revolution; this season, LaPrendo ventures hand in hand with Gebrüder Schaffrath to set The Diamond free. Since 1923, the German diamond manufacturer has awakened the true spirit of diamonds and adorning them in some of the most spectacular settings we have seen so far.
For the first time ever, the world witnesses Liberté®, a pioneering 360° mobility setting system that constantly refracts and reflects incoming light from all angles and facets in a diamond. The result is a never-ending firework sparkling in all nuances of the colour spectrum. Coming soon at LaPrendo Fullerton Jewellery Boutique and online.

A hearty congratulations to for the successful debut!
