Matthew Williamson's Debut Bag Line

Friday, October 25, 2013

Watch out, there’s a new cool contender in handbag town!
World renowned for his highly recognisable prints, embellishment, attention to detail and kaleidoscopic colours, Matthew Williamson encapsulates a bohemian spirit and a laid back sense of glamour. As if we need further convincing, his long-standing celebrity fans include Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, and Poppy Delevingne...
LaPrendo is excited to present his debut handbag line for Fall/Winter 2013!

Created as an extension of the label's existing evening bag category, the new range features a mix of handheld totes, duffle styles and compact across-body chain bags. Perfect for day-to-night transitional dressing.
"I wanted to create a collection of leather handbags which would not only reflect the brand's DNA, but also appeal to a busy cosmopolitan woman," and that’s what we love most about him, an adept understanding of women’s lifestyle. Campaign photos, too, were shot ala cool street style pictures, showing how to rock Williamson's colorful creations in everyday wardrobe scenarios.

Each bag is hand-crafted in Italy, created using a range of textured grained leather, calf skin and colourful woven jacquard which echoes the rose tapestry fabrics that appeared in the label's latest collection. Durable leather meets trendy neon prints, giving the collection a real balance of utility and style. We can't wait to get our hands on these arm candies - just the right dose of colour to jazz up the sombre autumnal palette!

Matthew Williamson’s debut handbag line will be available at LaPrendo Dempsey Boutique and online in November.

Zagliani Fall/Winter 2013 Collection
Exotic Dreams Are Made Of These

Wednesday, October 16, 2013

In a world full of indulgence and inordinate choices, a woman can always dream of something bigger, better and more beautiful just over the horizon of luxury goods.
And Zagliani knows this all too well…
Nowhere in the guise of luxury is more resplendent and true than exotic skins, as today, an exotic bag is a prized possession and supreme object of desire on its own right.

We invited the discerning friends and fellow dreamers for an exclusive preview of Zagliani's magnificent F/W 2013 exotic icons. This time, we would like to elevate that experience with a more personalised touch – focused on fabricating your ultimate dreambag. Offering a private consultation and made-to-order atelier services (for crocodile bags only) .
Tell us your utmost wishes and desires so Zagliani can finally breathe them into life…

Zagliani has realised each skin is rare and one of a kind - deeming it arduous to work with - requiring the imagination of a gifted visionary and the experienced touch of a master craftsman. From their founding in Milan in 1947 by Mrs Bruna Zagliani, the brand has upheld the age-old traditions of precious skin treatment; exotic animal skins are painstakingly hand-cut, pieced, sewn and shaped into a vision of a creative masterpiece. Final products are then treated by cutting-edge tanning processes to make tough textures feel buttery soft.

Our Dempsey Boutique was transformed into a surreal nature landscape for this special occassion.
And Zagliani's creations take center stage amidst a minimalist nature
setting with raw tree branches, cactuses, and desert flowers...

As a tribute to Crocodile skin, the luxurious Porosus from Australia, Nicotilus from Africa, and Alligator from The United States now comes in sumptuous berry tones, showstealing brights and must-have neutrals. Incorporating modern high-gloss, waxed, and matte karung finish. Each bag remains distinguishably glamorous with a contrast nappa lining.

Zagliani's F/W 2013 superstars: GATSBY (a structured wing-side handbag). BAMBOLA (a framed handbag), GIULIETTA (flap front shoulder bags), TOMODACHI (a slouchy tote) and MARION (a studded framed shoulder bag). Pick a muse and customise it to fit your personal style. We can't get enough of the handpainted giraffe-pattern python (bottom left bag)! It makes a perfect finishing touch to an LBD or even with jeans for the weekends...

Thank you to those who came and enjoyed the reception with all of us. The LaPrendo team humbly appreciates the love and support from all our loyal customers, guests and friends, therefore we hope to see you at our next exciting event!

Fendi and The Cinema Exhibition

Wednesday, October 2, 2013

Ciao bella...
Greetings from Milan, in between the showroom appointments and fashion shows we would like to share about our little visit to the history of Fendi through this exclusive exhibition.

Fendi has long been one of cinema's favoured costumiers, dressing leading ladies in scene-stealing furs. From Madonna in Evita and Michelle Pfeiffer in The Age of Innocence through to the sublime Isabelle Huppert in Lady of the Camelias and the slightly ridiculous Gwyneth Paltrow in The Royal Tenenbaums, all have delivered iconic dramatic turns in Fendi, occasionally to Oscar-winning effect.

“As a little girl, film screenings were events in their own right,” remembers Director Silvia Venturini Fendi of her personal connection to film. “The cinema would enter our house and the whole event would be met with a religious silence. We have worked alongside the greatest directors of our time, from Luchino Visconti, Wes Anderson, Martin Scorsese to Giuseppe Tornatore, and we will continue to do so."

Watch Fendi's amazing fashion fantasies come to life.
