Greetings from Milan, in between the showroom appointments and fashion shows we would like to share about our little visit to the history of Fendi through this exclusive exhibition.
Fendi has long been one of film industry's favoured costumiers, dressing leading ladies in scene-stealing furs. From Madonna in Evita, Michelle Pfeiffer in he Age of Innocence to the sublime Isabelle Hupper in Lady of the Camelias and the slightly kooky Gweneth Paltrow in The Royal Tenenbaums, all have delivered dramatic fashion turns in Fendi, occassionaly to Oscar-winning effect. In celebration of this cinematic resume, Fendi created an exhibition
on the opulent stage of Cinema
Manzoni in Milan - aptly timed to show during Milan Fashion Week.
“As a little girl, film screenings were events in their own right,”
remembers Director Silvia Venturini Fendi of her personal connection to film. “The cinema would enter our
house and the whole event would be met with a religious silence. We have worked alongside the greatest directors of our time, from Luchino Visconti, Wes Anderson, Martin Scorsese to Giuseppe Tornatore, and we will continue to do so."
Watch Fendi's amazing fashion fantasies come to life.
