Thakoon Addition Resort 2015 Collection
It was a bohemian rhapsody for Thakoon Addition this season as the designer looked towards Orientalist themes, done up
in dynamic modern shapes that will surely appeal to the Thakoon Addition girl.
Shorts were a talking point this season. They came in a lightweight chevron
jacquard option that appeared on fluid walking shorts and a gathered ponte
alternative that came in an ikat-inspired print.
Layering was key too. Some were literal and
came in the form of a floral embroidered v-front pullover and a braided cable
knit crop pullover paired with simple separates. The standouts, however, were
these double-layered features that appeared on stripe shirting tops and
cross-stitch jacquard dresses. The textures melded together flawlessly and to
the discerning eye, make for an ultra-flattering silhouette. Our favourite? A
double layer novelty lace top in ivory.
“The underlying theme is always sportif,” Thakoon once said, describing
his free-spirited secondary line. And for Resort 2015, an eclectic mix of
easy-to-wear separates leads the way. Menswear elements, which were prevalent
in previous collections continued too, in flashes of poplin and stripe
shirting. Amazingly, all these elements came together so seamlessly in a
cohesive and yet signature Thakoon Addition collection.
