Modern essentials for the urban sophisticate

Monday, November 9, 2015
The world of Theory – #intheory – is a very simple one. Dream of a modern and essential wardrobe that consists of exceptional fabrics made in tailored yet fluid silhouettes with a strong neutral game that transcends seasons and you get Theory.

The silhouette here is the difference. Fashion-relevant and delicately streamlined, the fit of this silhouette is what makes Theory so desirable. The perfect fit is in fact what Theory is built upon. That was how the brand’s best-selling stretch trousers came into being. And now, a collection of go-to essentials in every style department awaits the modern working woman of today.
There is no fantasy, only realism. For Theory, it has always been about the woman. This woman values all-day comfort where days go from dawn to dusk. She seeks value and quality. To this urban sophisticate, Theory is the answer to her wardrobe needs. A Theory design is not just easy-to-wear, it is easier-to-wear.

Each unique fabric is fitted into a perfect-fit style so two similar product styles can have a different type of perfect-fit altogether. Details like the armhole opening, waistband construction, and fabric weight are considered. Fuse this with clean lines that go well with effortless layering and a modern point-of-view of fashion is shaped. This is Theory’s version of modern fashion.
Subtle statements for the sophisticated, minimalist separates for the effortless, classics for many years to come, those can be said of Theory. Beyond that, comfort at the heart of every clothing piece is the core of the Theory aesthetic. With Theory, continuously add on to your collection of everyday basics with each season’s new updates. Inject contemporary femininity. Elevate your monochrome cool school game. Add a foundation of effortless modernity.

As Theory co-founder Andrew Rosen once said, “Good clothes don’t necessarily have to be making the latest pages of fashion magazines.” We say, good clothes have to make it into your wardrobe.

Designer Homes
Peek inside the homes of our designers

Friday, November 6, 2015 More often than not, a home of a creative mind can be fascinating. As we glimpse into these homes – designers' homes – we discover snippets of objects and artifacts that shape these minds. A correlation between their homes and their designs is evident.

Let us look inside Vionnet's world, Sonia Rykiel's Paris, Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen's Danish dream, and Chiara Ferragni's life. As you look at these images, know that there is more to these designers than meets the eye.

Sonia Rykiel designer Julie de Libran’s apartment, located in the sixth arrondissement of Paris, is a chic representation of the surrounding Parisian cityscape. Inspiration abounds in this district and De Libran has certainly put it to good use, ushering Sonia Rykiel into a new age of quintessential Parisian charm.

Vionnet designer Goga Ashkenazi resides just off Montenapoleone, an upscale fashion boulevard not far from the Vionnet headquarters. The 19th century real estate is fitted with an eclectic mix of furnishings and art pieces. Much like her designs for Vionnet, the Goga touch of acute modernity is evident.

Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen designer Charlotte Lynggaard is addicted to light. During the day, her natural light-filled summer home is at its full glory. The Scandinavian forest encloses while the vast sea overlooking the distant Swedish shoreline lies at a distance. The Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen aesthetic is present – there and then.

Chiara Ferragni, founder of The Blonde Salad and her eponymous shoe brand, is one woman who is finely tuned to pop culture life. Her Los Angeles home is redolent of her impeccable taste in contemporary-chic, enriched by her personal style, the very same aesthetic apparent in her shoe designs that have become global sensations.

Military Bang
How to rock the military look

Monday, November 2, 2015
It's Military Bang Monday!
Valentino has nailed it again with their latest offering from their famed camouflage collection. Gold tones and camouflage prints have gone hand in hand for a while now, and if you’re Valentino, you have a winning formula of camo luxe. Amp up the chic-luxe factor with a pair of pointed toe pumps and a refined stack ring combo, coupled with military-esque denim on white for a high fashion look.
Tailored shapes and feminine silhouettes, combine these two with this season’s military-inspired movement and you have Thakoon Addition’s urban uniform of utilitarian cool. Like the Thakoon Addition Fall 2015 collection, embrace the military march in small doses without going overboard where practicality and comfort come first. Balance utility fabrics with soft jersey and shirting for an elegantly pared down look. It's the perfect balance if you ask us!
It’s time to grab a backpack and re-enlist in the military fashion squad. The modern military look combines masculine elements with a feminine flair. Turn basic staples up a notch with this trailblazing outfit of awe-inspiring style. Small backpack? Check. Side-tie shirtdress? Check. Androgynous heels? Check. Keep within the theme and match these with a military colour palette of taupe grey and brown. March on military girl!
