Pretty Little Things
Pint-sized beauties to love and covet

Tuesday, May 24, 2016
Meet the pretty little things that has got us all lusting after like kids in a candy store. From Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen's and Ginette NY's little luxuries to designer brooches from Vionnet as well as Paula Cademartori's fashionable keychains, and of course Mansur Gavriel, they are yours to love and covet. Check them out below.
The Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen Love bracelet just got an update. It is now thinner with more delicate and pronounced curves but with the same 12 links of pure goodness. Match it with your favourite charms and a Lotus ring.
Designers have been plastering logos and emblems everywhere this season. At Vionnet, the leather brooch is the emblem of choice. Wear it to signify the birth of the new season or to elevate that basic top.
Inspired by the wings of an eagle, the Ginette NY Wise collection is adorned repeatedly with this magnificent wing-like shape in a multitude of interesting variations. It’s simple. It’s sometimes tiny. But it’s also absolutely easy to wear and layer.
Handcrafted from colourful leather strips and stitched with precision, these fine accessories from Paula Cademartori are rendered almost 3D-like. They are so adorable that we can’t stop staring at them. And then, there are the Mansur Gavriel mini and mini mini bucket bags, which show no signs of going anywhere. Carry it as often as you can and feel how soft the leather becomes over time. You know it’s a big deal.

Graphic Impact
Transform your look with new season highlights

Wednesday, May 18, 2016
Transform your look with new season highlights! From highlighter flats to eye-popping hero bags, take your pick from the likes of Sonia Rykiel, Paula Cademartori, Ginette NY, Mykita, Casadei, and Anton Heunis.
All you need is a single standout piece to well, stand out. If you already have a slew of basic tops, then all you need is a pair of statement pants to add drama to your look – and vice versa. And if you’re a bit more adventurous, choose a fancy colour from this Sonia Rykiel print and pick out a monocolour top in the same colour for an Anna Dello Russo-worthy look.
The same can be said for jewellery. We’re talking about the subtlest of subtleties here but still impactful enough to elevate an outfit. Packing a kaleidoscopic punch, this Ginette NY pendant necklace boasts lapis, turquoise, jasper, and aventurine stones set in one of Ginette NY’s defining shapes of their latest collection. Pair it with your work outfit for added intrigue or take it away for the weekend.
The hero bag does not come any brighter than the Paula Cademartori Abela shoulder bag in fuchsia. This bag will instantly transform that little black dress outfit or any executive-chic look for that matter. Avoid any clashing hues and your hero will come through. The best part? The Abela bag comes with a detachable shoulder strap that you can use to switch up your look for casual off-duty days.
Dressing from the feet up has never been easier with this blue Casadei ballerina flats. These flats are the perfect highlight to your weekend essentials. With shorts, denim jeans, or the ever-versatile shirtdress, these highlighter flats will prove to be an effortless fit.  For this new season look, we prefer a healthy dose of whites and a chic crossbody bag for a summery weekend ahead.

The 9-to-9 Dress Code
Winning looks for the office and dinner

Monday, May 16, 2016
Tackle the 9-to-9 dress code today. Theses are our favourite outfits for the office and dinner thereafter, an affair we indulge in almost every day. With this guide, you'll be looking fab from Monday to Friday in the likes of Theory, Herve Leger, and Sonia Rykiel, Have a look!
The 9-to-9 dress code is what we probably follow most of the time. You would think that we have endless options to tackle that situation now but the fact of the matter is that these options are inevitably just not enough. It’s easy to shirt up with any smart blouse on a daily basis, instead shirt up with a shirtdress. Pick an elegant Theory number in airy silk and breeze through casual meetings till dinner while keeping cool.
Put a new spin on the power suit the Herve Leger way. This black jacket and skirt power suit combo will have you boardroom ready in an instant. While black is universally figure-friendly and easy-to-match, this Herve Leger suit has interesting panels and textures that make the whole outfit pop. The skirt is cut to a perfect office-friendly length while the jacket has an all-flattering peplum effect – and in Herve Leger’s signature bandage knit no less.
Theory has been great at churning out easy-to-wear dresses, which have been knockouts in both the office and on weekends. This time, we look to their separates: a white on white combo that is fashionably suited for the office and a dinner appointment thereafter. Match this with an inner slip top in white and throw on some blacks for a ridiculously sharp and smart look. Perfect for creatives in the office who are going for a stylish semi-formal look.
Like tweed that has interweaving intricacies, a tressage knit has yarns that plait ornately with each other. Here, Sonia Rykiel has made this beautiful fabric into a gorgeous black jacket. The texture is rich, the fabric is light, and the silhouette is immensely cosy when worn. This jacket works as a great cover-up for cold interiors or you could easily throw it on your shoulders for a quick run to a meeting. Outside of the office, this could even be worked with jeans on cooler weekends.
What’s that one workday staple you can’t live without? Besides the white blouse and black skirt or pants, chances are it is the sheath dress, a body-skimming dress that hugs all the right curves. This Sonia Rykiel version comes in a jersey knit fabric that is soft to the touch and drapes well. The simple colour-blocked panels are just what you need to break that little black dress routine. Accessorise with a little bit of gold and we’re sure your usual workday will be just that more interesting.

Denim Culture
Learn how to dress up your denim

Friday, May 13, 2016
Every season, denim inevitably get an update. So here's how to dress up your denim with Victoria Victoria Beckham and Frame Denim showing us the way.
Much like the classic black pants, a pair of black denim jeans – especially one from Victoria Victoria Beckham – devoid of any washed effects is as good as the former. The only main difference here is the fabric. So go on and team a structured peplum top or tuck in a sleek white blouse for a dressed down formality. And just like how the French do it, pair this look with a pointed toe pumps and you’ll be up for meetings and mid-day appointments in comfort and at your casual-chic best.
We all know that putting on a pair of culottes amps up our style quotient instantly. And if it’s a denim culottes from Frame Denim, then you’re right ahead of the fashion curve. Take the flare of the culottes as inspiration and go with a loosely fitted top. Make sure you leave your work handbags at home because off-duty looks call for off-duty crossbody bags – and of course, your favourite pair of flats. There’s nothing like a slouchy-chic outfit for a cool casual swagger.
Even in a pair of shorts, we best check that we’re still on point. Instead of the usual indigo, we look to a nice khaki brown from Frame Denim this time, which is a classic colour all the same. And it’s an easy one to match at that. Keep the t-shirts for quick runarounds in the neighborhood. But if we’re going to town with this one, a casual long-sleeved top is what we prefer. Tuck it in and you would have done wonders to slim the waist and elongate your legs.
Who can forget the classic blue jeans? It is an evergreen essential in our wardrobes and one that we can never have too many of. Think about the different kind of washes and treatments and you get the idea. Throw on any type of top and this outfit will probably work. This time, we’re going for a street style-worthy look with Frame Denim. Dress this favourite up with a statement bag and knockout accessories that will fit right into your Instagram feed.

Ginette NY
Make a quiet and elegant statement

Tuesday, May 10, 2016
The Ginette NY woman is poetic and effortless in everything. From the clothes that she wears to the life that she lives. Her jewellery is delicate, barely there, and uncomplicated all at the same time. They are tiny yet luxurious and never too cluttered even when layered.
We often talk about everyday pieces, pieces that have high mileages in your weekly outfit rotations. Ginette NY is an ideal of all of that. Never compromising on quality and craftsmanship despite its refined structures, Ginette NY knows exactly what kind of jewellery suits her women. And they are fine jewellery to make a quiet and elegant statement for any occasion you can dream of.
Ginette NY’s jewellery designs are for you to admire up close. Each design feels almost like a fine silk lace draping over your skin. A touch so soft that you can hardly tell that it is even there. And then unexpectedly, a teal turquoise, blue lapis, and reddish-brown jasper become part of the equation. Vivid as they may seem, the colours lend a new harmonious twist to the original canvas. And even then, they are as subtle as they can get.
As Guillaume Paturel, whose artwork inspired this collection, so cleverly pointed out, “Like cities, my paintings are never completed, they have a beginning but not an end. They represent a work in progress, always waiting for new scenes to be added and new characters to move in.”
Everyone can be a Ginette NY woman. Or rather, there is a Ginette NY woman in every one of us. How apt is it then that Ginette NY is actually named after an old French name? That, together with today’s modern aesthetics, is ultimately what Ginette NY personifies, a discreet beauty for the modern woman. How beautiful is that?
