Theory Pre-fall 2016
A case of effortless ease

Tuesday, September 13, 2016
Under creative director Lisa Kulson, Theory has taken progressive steps, grooming Theory into the wardrobe of choice for urban essentials. This is by no means an overstatement. From workwear dresses to casual separates, Theory has got them all, and in an easy-to-wear colour palette to boot.
For Pre-fall 2016, Theory served up a decidedly monochrome canvas of effortless garments that will quite easily fit into your current desk-to-dinner or dinner-to-weekend wardrobe. These are garments that will add on and elevate, and at the same time diversify your current repertoire.
Classically cut little black dresses lead the way. The favourite silhouette is without sleeves and gently hugs the upper torso while draping fluidly against the lower half of your body.
Culottes made appearances again. Don’t we all just love them? They obscure our flaws, provide generous legroom, and basically go with just about everything – not to mention that an oversized silhouette screams instant chic. Theory has certainly got the memo.
What surprised us most this season is the inclusion of a sizable amount of knitwear. Knits appeared in essentially everything. Say yes to crease-free days. And aren’t they just perfect for cooler days in the office?
While you’re looking to update your black and white collection with Theory this season, the introduction of more colours – like red oak – this Fall means Theory is gearing up for another step forward.

Trust us on this. It’s going to be good.
